Jessica Alba recommends hypnosis (Hypnobirthing) to expectant mothers

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Jessica Alba, actress of the Fantastic 4, has some advice for mothers-to-be.

The actress, now 30 and in her second pregnancy, recommends that expectant mothers turn to hypnosis to help them have a smooth, enjoyable pregnancy.

Hypnobirthing has been done for the last 150+ years, in one form or another.  And these days, you can easily find hypnobirthing practitioners an hypnobirthing classes in your area.

However, why only learn tiny tidbits that only apply to pregnancy?  Hypnosis is a powerful tool that allows your conscious (thinking) mind and your subconscious (feeling) mind to be aligned.

Hypnosis can be used for everything from hypnosis for weight loss, to improving memory, and from sales mastery to learning how to influence and persuade people with conversational hypnosis.

Perhaps the best way to start is to get my best-selling book, Learn Hypnosis… Now!.  It is by far the easiest way to learn to do hypnosis for yourself and for others, and you can get it at  Or, check 0ut my video home study course, Learn Hypnosis… At Home!.

IDosing Update

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

In June, I blogged about a dangerous new way to get high, called I-Dosing.

People can now purchase and download MP3 music files that replicate drug states, using binaural beat technology that manipulates brainwaves with sounds.

This is particularly dangerous for kids and teens, because you can’t test their urine, blood or breath to find out if they’re “using,” and their peers tell them that it’s not dangerous, because it isn’t chemical (completely ignoring the mental/emotional effects of using).

I just found out now that it’s also available as an app on iTunes.

If you have kids, it’s very important that you know what they’re downloading, and from where. Be sure to periodically check your teens computer, music player, cell phone, and now, iTouch or iPhone. Seemingly innocent music files could be harming them now.

To your success,
Michael Stevenson

Warning: New way for kids to get high… over the internet

Monday, July 19th, 2010

I just came across this video about a new trend among teens, called I-Dosing.

I-Dosing allows kids to get high over the internet, using their computer or MP3 player.

They download the MP3 and listen to it through headphones and it induces drug-like effects.

As silly as this sounds, I’m very familiar with this technology.

It’s called binaural beats, and it has been around since the early 70’s. It’s well-established science.

I sometimes use it in my practice and at home, and I actually have two binarual beat machines for my kids (though, they obviously don’t have a “high” setting).

This is definitely something to keep an eye out for.  Even though it’s not “chemical,” this is still very, very dangerous.

Here’s the news clip:

If you have any questions about the technology of it, just ask. I’m quite familiar with it as a therapeutic tool.

Let’s take a step back and think about the swine flu rationally.

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

One person posted on facebook last night, “Swine Flu now a pandemic.”

The definition of a pandemic, according to wikipedia is, “an epidemic of infectious disease that spreads through populations across a large region.”

65 US cases of the flu out of 303M+ hardly seems to be epidemic. And it has to be epidemic before it can be pandemic, by definition.

Here’s Congressman Ron Paul – who is also a physician – talking about the issue:

Now I like Ron Paul’s case, but the argument can be made even more relevant. This took me less than ten minutes of research:

According to the CDCs own numbers, 200,000 people were infected by the flu in the US last year, and 35,000 died from it. That’s 547 people infected daily with 95 dying EACH DAY.

So far, we’ve got only 65 cases in the ENTIRE US over the period of a week or so, and only one death – an infant – which is unfortunately, tragically, normal for an influenza infection at that age.

And many of the 159 deaths reported in Mexico are attributed by guess only. They can’t confirm many of them, because they were buried or cremated before they could be tested. Only eight are actually confirmed by lab results. EIGHT! The media sure aren’t trumpeting that fact… it doesn’t net ratings like 159 does!

This is the SARS debacle all over again. This is the WHO and agencies like DHS flexing their muscles, just like they did back then.

It’s the medical equivalent of keeping the terror threat level at yellow for the last eight years.

It’s the flu, people. It might be a bit of a nasty flu, but it’s still the flu. I really think people need to calm down and think rationally about this.

Eat well, take your supplements, get sleep and wash you hands. That’s what most of the experts are saying. And most of all, stay positive. After all, your immune system is listening. 🙂

Update: This just in…

It’s possible you won’t choose to believe me or Congressman Paul. But how about the scientists? They don’t think it’s a big deal either, and they are predicting this outbreak won’t be any worse than your average winter flu season:

Stay empowered,
