Five Ways to Make Money with NLP

As an NLP trainer, people always ask me, “How can I make money with NLP?”

I remember starting out in this field. As an owner of my own software company, I was already versed in business and marketing, so I was able to break six-figures my first year in NLP. One of the biggest ways I help struggling NLP Practitioners, NLP Master Practitioners and NLP Trainers these days is by teaching them business skills to help them thrive with their NLP skills...

One of the worst ways to approach this business is to do what everyone else is going. You’ve got to be unique, and it’s usually better business to pick a specific niche to serve. Rather than being a “Jack of All Trades,” you can be an “Ace at One.”

Here are five unique ways you can make money in the field of NLP (note that, legally, none of these recommendations is a promise or guarantee of income, but rather my opinion based on my personal experience and the experience of others):

1. Make Money with NLP as a Coach

People are jumping the “corporate” ship like crazy and more and more people are becoming business owners these days.

What’s the significance of that? Imagine a new pilot trying to navigate and land at a busy airport without “air traffic control.” That’s what being a new entrepreneur is like for most people.

Taking that huge leap can be scary, and entrepreneurs don’t always have supportive relationships they can lean on.

So there’s a growing demand for success and business coaches in the world today.

The benefits of being a coach are huge:

• Work from anywhere in the world
• Set your own hours
• Set your own price

Coaches help their clients:

• Define their desired outcomes
• Set timelines and deadlines
• Create goals and break large goals down into small, achievable tasks
• Give perspective and see things the client may not see themselves
• Listen for and help the client challenge limiting beliefs
• Helping your clients stay accountable, so they do what they say they will, week after week

2. Make Money with NLP as a Practitioner

NLP gives you a tool-belt so full, you can work with people for nearly anything that might be bothering them.

And the beauty is there are people searching specifically for NLP Practitioners in metropolitan areas, so there’s a bit of a built-in market.

NLP can be used to help people:

• Overcome fears and phobias
• Shed excess weight
• Stop negative habits like smoking, nail biting, addictions
• Overcome limiting beliefs
• Release negativity from the past
• Create motivation and confidence
• And so much more!

Most Practitioners work one-on-one in an office, but most NLP can be done via phone or Skype from anywhere in the world.

3. Make Money with NLP as a Consultant

The difference between a coach and a consultant is that a coach never tells people what to do (coaches assist clients in finding their own answers), while consultants bring specialized knowledge and advice.

For instance, as a business consultant, I help members of my Inner Circle coaching program with specific marketing advice and strategies to help them grow their business.  I also teach my clients how to create automated business systems so they can create more time and have more freedom, all while making even more money.

If you have specific knowledge from any previous field you’ve worked in or from your education (mine is in marketing and technology), you can leverage that to make even more money as a consultant.

4. Make Money with NLP as an Author

The amount of knowledge you will absorb and internalize in an NLP Practitioner Training is staggering.

Because NLP trainings combine Accelerated Learning, NLP subconscious teaching principles and layered learning, people often report learning more actionable knowledge from NLP Practitioner than anywhere else.

With the wealth of knowledge you’ll have, there’s plenty of material for you to write your own book.

Remember, peak-potential strategist and speaker Tony Robbins is trained in little more than NLP, yet he was able to release his books (Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within) with little more than his NLP Practitioner knowledge.

Becoming a published author will also increase your credibility and authority in the field (and can even net you some media), which will also allow you to charge higher fees as a coach, Practitioner, consultant and speaker.

5. Make Money with NLP as a Speaker

Again, with the wealth of knowledge you’ll receive, you’ll have plenty of material to become a speaker (remember Tony Robbins?).
